San Francisco Firefighter Stair Climb
The competition is done with Bunker Gear and SCBA donned.
Individuals and teams should bring enough equipment for their Team.
If a team is having a problem securing enough equipment for their team, please contact Gary Allender or John Davis. We may be able to assist teams with securing enough SCBA's in order to compete. We can also assist with altering start times to assist teams that have more participants than SCBA's.
The race will be done in FULL structural firefighting gear including airport firefighting gear: Structural Firefighting boots (no wildland or station boots), pants, and coat (liners intact), helmet and gloves. Hoods will not be worn. Breathing apparatus will be worn and USED every step of the course. This spirit of this event is that Firefighters grab their gear off the rig, don an SCBA and participate in this stair climb. In keeping with this tradition, there will be no race gear allowed.
If you have any questions concerning equipment please do not hesitate to contact us, we are working towards securing spare sets of equipment to have on hand the day of the event.
Any Firefighter related questions about equipment, please contact Gary.
We are inviting our brothers in law enforcement and the military to participate climbing 48 floors for charity.
Officers and troops can participate in SWAT gear if appropriate, regular uniform if preferred, civilian type of wear, or military clothing and apparel. We are working with our law enforcement and military brothers in order to develop safe procedures for all to be able to run with any desired gear.
Any police or military equipment questions please contact Gary.
